Radiology is the branch of healthcare that allows you to look beyond this deceit and actually examine and diagnose any diseases hiding inside your body. Radiologists use a medley of methods such as X-ray radiography, ultrasound, computed tomography (CT), nuclear medicine including positron emission tomography (PET), medical imaging (MI) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in order to detect diseases and determine the apt treatment for the patient. Radiologists play a key role in healthcare by guiding the physician and also taking the opinion of an expert consultant when necessary. After a patient has undergone the tests, a Radiologist will interpret and analyze the reports obtained through imaging and prepare a list of observations and conclusions that will further aid the consulting doctor prepare the treatment strategy, while, at times, also referring to other functions within healthcare as and when warranted.
